MGMT is an American rock band formed in 2002 in Middletown, Connecticut, by Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser. Known for their eclectic style and psychedelic pop sound, they first gained attention with their debut album Oracular Spectacular in 2007, which included hits like Kids and Electric Feel. After expanding their lineup for the recording of Congratulations in 2010, they continued to explore new musical directions with their self-titled album in 2013 and Little Dark Age in 2018. The band has received critical acclaim, including a Grammy Award for the Justice remix of Electric Feel and multiple Grammy nominations. Since 2019, MGMT has released music independently, starting with the single In the Afternoon. They have been recognized by major publications and remain influential in modern indie and alternative music.
