Killswitch Engage is a metalcore band from Westfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1999. Known for blending heavy riffs and melodic hooks, the band helped define the New Wave of American Heavy Metal and became a key influence in the metalcore genre. The current lineup features vocalist Jesse Leach, guitarists Joel Stroetzel and Adam Dutkiewicz, bassist Mike D'Antonio, and drummer Justin Foley. Howard Jones fronted the band from 2002 to 2012, leading during their mainstream breakthrough with the acclaimed album The End of Heartache, which included a Grammy-nominated title track. Killswitch Engage continued their success with As Daylight Dies and later releases, producing hits like My Curse and In Due Time. With over four million records sold in the US, the band remains a powerhouse in modern metal, releasing their ninth album This Consequence in 2025.
