Joey Badass, born Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott in 1995 in Brooklyn, is an acclaimed American rapper and actor. He founded the hip-hop group Pro Era in 2011 and later helped form the Beast Coast collective. Gaining early recognition with his debut mixtape 1999 and its follow-up Summer Knights, Joey Badass received critical praise from the start of his career. His first two studio albums both reached the top five on the Billboard charts, and his third album 2000 continued his streak of impactful releases. In addition to music, he expanded into acting with a role in the television series Mr Robot.
