Ibanez GRX40-MLB Metallic Light Blue Elektrisk guitar

Ibanez GRX40-MLB Electric Guitar — Entry-Level Access to the Ibanez RG Experience

This electric guitar is the most affordable gateway into the iconic RG superstrat family. Finished in vivid Metallic Light Blue, this GIO-series ST-style instrument packages the slim neck profile, fast fretboard, and versatile HSS pickup layout that have made the brand a favorite among rock and metal players. The guitar ships from the factory set up and ready to play. Players will find the same long 648 mm scale that defines higher-tier RG models. Chrome hardware completes a clean look.

What Sets This GIO-Series Model Apart

What separates this guitar from other budget ST-style instruments is the combination of Infinity electronics and the T106 tremolo bridge with six independent saddles. The Infinity RS single-coils and Infinity R humbucker stay clear and articulate even under heavy distortion.

Poplar Body and ST-Style Construction

The poplar body keeps this model light enough for younger players to handle comfortably. The polished Metallic Light Blue finish and contoured body bevels give it a stage-ready appearance and natural forearm contact. With no carved top, the flat body design keeps weight and cost down.

• The body is made of Poplar, which is light and balanced for extended comfort.
• Finish: Polished Metallic Light Blue — durable gloss

GRX Maple Neck and Jatoba Fretboard

A bolt-on maple neck in the GRX profile keeps the playing surface slim and fast. Jatoba was selected for the fretboard because it produces a rich mid-range with a crisp high-end, and twenty-two medium frets provide enough range for lead playing.

• Neck Material: Maple — bright tonal character and stability
• Fretboard Material: Jatoba — rich mids and crisp highs
• Scale Length: 648 mm — tight low-end and accurate intonation

Infinity Pickups, T106 Tremolo, and 5-Way Switching

The HSS configuration pairs two Infinity RS single-coils with an Infinity R humbucker at the bridge, giving players access to glassy clean tones, classic Strat-style quack, and full-throttle rock tones. The T106 tremolo bridge with six independent saddles allows precise intonation adjustment.

• For versatile sounds, it features an HSS configuration with Infinity RS (S) neck/middle and Infinity R (H) bridge pickups.
• Bridge: Ibanez T106 tremolo — six independent saddles
• Controls: 1 Volume, 1 Tone, 5-Way Switch — simple layout

Built for First-Time Players and Returning Guitarists

The Ibanez GRX40-MLB is the right choice for beginner electric guitarists who want a real instrument rather than a generic starter pack. The slim GRX neck profile, light poplar body, and 42 mm nut width make it approachable for younger players and anyone with smaller hands. The HSS pickup layout covers the full range of styles a new player is likely to explore, and pairing it with a small practice amp and .009–.042 strings makes the package ready for bedroom practice or first gig appearances.
