Hot Chip is a London-based synth-pop band formed in 2000 by Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard, later joined by Al Doyle, Owen Clarke, and Felix Martin. Known for their eclectic mix of synth-pop, alternative dance, house, and disco influences, they gained early attention with their debut album Coming on Strong in 2004. Their follow-up, The Warning, earned a Mercury Prize nomination, while the track Ready for the Floor from Made in the Dark was recognized with a Grammy nomination. Over the years, Hot Chip has released several acclaimed albums, including One Life Stand, In Our Heads, Why Make Sense, A Bath Full of Ecstasy, and Freakout Release. In addition to their band work, members collaborate on other projects and DJ sets, contributing to their reputation within the electronic and dance music scenes.
