Hooverphonic is a Belgian band formed in 1995, known for blending elements of trip hop, electronica, rock, and alternative music. Founded by bassist Alex Callier and guitarist Raymond Geerts, the group has featured several lead singers over the years, including Liesje Sadonius, Geike Arnaert, Noémie Wolfs, and Luka Cruysberghs. Originally named Hoover, they changed their name to Hooverphonic soon after to avoid confusion and legal issues. The band is recognized for their cinematic sound and international hits, and they represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song The Wrong Place.
