The AM2 medium powered headphone amplifier module for the X7 high resolution music player utilizes the MUSES02 operational amplifier for voltage amplification. Together with the BUF634 buffer, this amplifier module is capable of ultra-high current drive (250mA) and ultra-low noise and distortion, along with high resolution and fine sonic detail retrieval. Separate positive and negative pole power supplies are provided, with two-level voltage regulation function corresponding to high and low gain modes, effectively reducing power consumption and increasing play time. A small screw driver is included in the package for working with the two T5 screws holding the amplifier module in place. With the two screws removed, the amplifier module can be unplugged with a firm pull. Installation is the reverse of removal. With this amplifier module installed, the X7 will provide over 8 hours of playback under the following conditions: Screen off, EQ off, low gain, 27 Ohm load, volume 52, playing 44.1kHz/16bit MP3 file.
