Asphyx is a death metal band from the Netherlands, originally formed in 1987 in Oldenzaal by Bob Bagchus and Tony Brookhuis. The group has undergone many lineup changes, and since 2014, none of the founding members remain. Martin van Drunen, who performed on the debut album, is the band’s long-standing vocalist and current frontman. Asphyx is known for their heavy, old-school death metal sound.
