Built on the ONYX software developed by Obsidian Control Systems, it delivers top-tier show control capabilities in a desk compact enough for touring and installation use alike.

ONYX-Powered Processing

The AX2 houses an industrial Intel i5 Hexa-Core processor paired with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 500 GB NVMe M.2 SSD. Running Windows 11 IoT Embedded with quiet copper heat pipe cooling, the console processes up to 32 DMX universes directly onboard — no external processing nodes or costly networks required, resulting in fast boot times and stable operation throughout the longest shows.

Comprehensive Control Surface

Ten 60 mm playback faders, each with four freely assignable function buttons, give operators instant hands-on control over any running show. Eight digital rotary encoders — four panel-mounted and four integrated into the main touchscreen — handle fixture parameter control, while a dedicated 3.5" RGB mini touchscreen provides quick access to parameter groups, effect parameters, fanning, and global timings. A Grand Master fader, full numerical keypad, and the complete ONYX command section round out the ergonomic layout.

HD Touchscreen & External Displays

The primary 15.6" Full HD (1920×1080) industrial TFT touchscreen is tilt-adjustable for clear visibility in any lighting environment. Two additional external 4K touch displays can be connected via DisplayPort, significantly expanding the workspace for programming and live operation.

DYLOS Pixel Media Engine

The integrated DYLOS Media Engine with five independent zones of pixel control enables complex pixel mapping and media playback directly from the console. This eliminates the need for a separate media server, making the AX2 a unified solution for both conventional lighting control and full pixel-mapped productions.

Extensive Connectivity

Four 5-pin locking XLR ports manage DMX/RDM universe I/O, while two Gigabit Ethernet ports support Art-Net, sACN, and the ONYX X-Net protocol for up to 32 universes over the network. MIDI In/Out/Thru via 5-pin DIN covers MIDI Show Control, MIDI Notes, and MIDI Timecode, and SMPTE Timecode I/O is handled by a dedicated 3-pin XLR pair. Five USB ports (4× USB 3.0, 1× USB 2.0) and a 3.5 mm audio I/O complete the connection panel.

At 540×300×121 mm and 9 kg, the AX2 is built for travel. The included 12 V external PSU (100–240 V), RGB LED desk lamp, dust cover, and USB recovery drive make it a self-contained solution ready for immediate deployment on any stage.
