Roland GO:PIANO — A Real Piano Feel in a Truly Portable Package

The Roland GO:PIANO is a 61-key portable digital piano built for players who want authentic piano feel without committing to a full-size instrument. Its 3.9 kg weight and 877 × 271 × 82 mm footprint make it easy to carry anywhere. Bluetooth turns any smartphone into a wireless lesson hub, streaming tutorials and backing tracks through the onboard speakers.

What Sets This Model Apart in the Portable Keyboard Segment

Two features are unusually rare at this price tier. Keys use a true 165 mm octave width — the same dimension found on acoustic grands — rather than the narrower 160 mm common on most synth-action keyboards. The speakers can stay enabled while headphones or a line output are connected, giving performers a built-in monitor.

Keyboard Action — Velocity-Sensitive Full-Size Keys

The 61-key layout spans five octaves, enough for most beginner repertoire, while keeping the chassis compact. Velocity sensitivity with three curves plus a fixed mode lets players dial in the response that matches their style.

• Number of Keys: 61 — five-octave range
• Box-shape synth action with simulated ivory/matte keytops — finger grip stays secure during long sessions
• Touch Sensitivity: 3 types plus fixed touch — match response to your playing style

Sound Engine — 128-Note Polyphony and Roland Piano Tones

A 128-note polyphony budget sustains dense chords and layered passages without notes cutting off mid-phrase. The tone library is drawn from Roland's acclaimed digital piano line.

• Maximum Polyphony: 128 voices — dense chords and layered passages sustain without dropped notes
• Tones: 40 total (10 piano, 7 electric piano, 7 organ, 16 other) — broad palette
• Multi-effects, Chorus, Reverb (10 levels), and Damper Resonance on piano tones — shapes the sound from dry studio to ambient hall

Connectivity and Portability — Bluetooth, Battery Power, and Recording

Bluetooth 4.2 with A2DP audio and GATT MIDI handles wireless streaming and app control without cables. Battery operation via six AA cells delivers roughly six hours of continuous use with rechargeable Ni-MH.

• Bluetooth: Ver 4.2 with A2DP audio and MIDI over BLE — streams lessons and connects to apps like Piano Partner 2
• Sustain pedal (1/4" TRS), 3.5 mm line input, and USB Micro-B MIDI — supports external control, audio sources, and computer music software
• Power: AC adaptor or 6 × AA batteries — roughly 4 hours alkaline, 6 hours Ni-MH for mobile playing

Who Should Choose the Roland GO:PIANO

Adult beginners, returning players, and traveling musicians will find this keyboard ideal for a credible piano experience in a compact, battery-powered format. Apartment dwellers benefit from the small footprint and headphone-friendly operation. Songwriters appreciate the onboard MIDI recorder, Bluetooth streaming, and the rare ability to keep the speakers active while routing audio to an external amp.

Roland — Premium Digital Piano Heritage

Roland's reputation for translating acoustic piano feel into digital instruments carries through to the GO:PIANO, pairing sounds derived from the brand's higher-end digital pianos with a smartphone-centric learning workflow. The Piano Partner 2 app extends the keyboard with flash cards, rhythm exercises, and a practice diary, making daily practice sessions more structured.
